On Saturday, June 23, Sycuan was a proud presenting sponsor of the Relay for Life of East County. Councilman Xusha Brown, Sr and Councilman Josh Muse of the Sycuan Band of the Kumeyaay Nation presented $5,000 to the American Cancer Society team during the opening ceremonies. The donation was in support of this year’s event and helped kick off the organization’s fundraising efforts.
This is Sycuan’s tenth year supporting the Relay for Life initiative and once again Sycuan is proud to host the largest team. Over the course of ten years, Sycuan’s cash and in-kind contributions have totaled more than $100,000. All funding raised during this event helps those in the East County who are fighting their battle with cancer.
Relay For Life is the signature fundraiser for the American Cancer Society. Relay is staffed and coordinated by volunteers in thousands of communities and 27 countries. Volunteers give of their time and effort because they believe it’s time to take action against cancer.
Join us at these events to bring communities together to remember loved ones lost, honor survivors of all cancers, and raise money to help the American Cancer Society make a global impact on cancer. For more information about how you can get involved visit www.relayforlife.org.
