Table of Contents SAN DIEGO LEGENDARY LION DANCER ASSOCIATION AT SYCUAN CASINO RESORT Sycuan Casino Resort shared an important Lunar New Year tradition with guests through lucky lion dance performances across the casino floor on Wednesday, Jan. 29 and Saturday, Feb. 1. Performers from the San Diego Legendary Lion Dance Association danced in lion costumes, showcasing traditional Asian art and culture. The performers mimicked the movement of lions to bring good luck, happiness and to drive evil spirits away for the new year. Plus, the lion ate lettuce and distributed it among the crowd at the Main Casino Lobby stage, spreading wealth to everyone. Guests also were given a red envelope throughout the casino to feed the lion so they can receive good fortune for the new year. Everyone at the show enjoyed the performance of the local lion dancers. ABA LUNAR NEW YEAR CELEBRATION: YEAR OF THE SNAKE The Asian Business Association of San Diego celebrated the Lunar New Year in partnership with Sycuan Casino Resort on Friday, Jan. 24. Sycuan Casino Resort, being the title sponsor of the event, offered the nonprofit a venue to bring Asian owned businesses and supporters together to welcome the Year of the Snake. San Diego business, who help the nonprofits mission, gathered at the Heritage Event Center to meet the cultural traditions of Lunar New Year. Guests enjoyed watching lion dancers, refreshing libations and traditional Asian food, all while networking with other community leaders. Sycuan Casino Resort has supported the nonprofit’s mission for many years and helps them celebrate the new year. The nonprofit aims to promote, unite and advocate the San Diego Asian business community to help businesses compete effectively and grow economically.
